notes
Indonesia has three types of public phones: coin, card, and calling kiosks. Phone services are divided between local, long-distance within the country, and international calls. A "wartel" is a long distance phone office or kiosk where patrons use a metered phone and then pay cash at the desk for the cost of the call. You can also purchase phone cards here.

Each city has a three to four digit area code. Big city local numbers tend to be longer than six digits, but in smaller places the local number may be six or fewer digits. Local calls only require the local number, not the area code.
